Here's a collection of "Pretty" songs. Well, not all of them are pretty. (Most are.) But they do all have the word "Pretty" in their titles. If I can scrounge up enough songs with "Ugly" in the title, this will end up being the first part of an "Opposites" music post. If not, then this will just be a standalone. You'll have to wait and see. Enjoy? ~ JH

2) Dean Martin ~ "Pretty Baby" (Not the same as the song above.)

You just had to know we were overdue for another "Opposites" post, right? This one's a bit of a stretch, in that the words "Free" and "Bound" both have multiple meanings, several of which are explored here. But technically they're still opposites. Some really good songs here, if I do say so myself. Enjoy? ~ JH
14) dc Talk ~ "Heaven Bound" (Woooowwww…this is pretty bad! Way back when, you would've never known that TobyMac [the "rapper" here] was headed for bigger and better things if this is all you had to go on!)
Here's yet another music post born out of my desire to include a particular song and having no other good reason to do so. So I made something up. As it will quickly become obvious, all the bands represented here have a word (be it a verb, noun, or preposition), then the word "the", and another word in their names. For example, Foster The People, Minus The Bear, Cage The Elephant, etc. Apparently, this particular band-naming technique has been going on for quite some time yet has become more and more prevalent in recent years – so I had oodles of bands to choose from. These are the ones that made the cut. Enjoy? ~ JH
1) Foster The People ~ "Coming Of Age"
2) Mott The Hoople ~ "All The Young Dudes"
3) Over The Rhine ~ "The Laugh Of Recognition"
4) Between The Trees ~ "The Way She Feels"
5) Cage The Elephant ~ "Back Against The Wall"
6) Walk The Moon ~ "Tightrope"
7) Said The Whale ~ "Camilo (The Magician)"
8) Minus The Bear ~ "Hold Me Down"
9) Saves The Day ~ "Deranged & Desperate"
10) Toad The Wet Sprocket ~ "All I Want"
11) Young The Giant ~ "Cough Syrup"
12) Portugal. The Man ~ "Evil Friends"
13) We Are The Fallen ~ "Bury Me Alive" (OK, so this one doesn't technically fit the theme [since both a subject and verb precede the "the"], but this post was short on female-fronted bands and this was a good song, so there ya go!)
14) HORSE The Band ~ "Shapeshift"
15) Swallow The Sun ft. Anette Olzon ~ "Cathedral Walls"
16) Jukebox The Ghost ~ "Somebody"
17) Stone The Crows ~ "Freedom Road"
18) After The Fire ~ "Der Kommissar"
19) Bomb The Bass ft. The Battle Of Land And Sea ~ "Up The Mountain"
20) JEFF The Brotherhood ~ "U Got The Look"
21) Dry The River ~ "No Rest"
22) Donna The Buffalo ~ "Locket And Key"
23) Verb The Noun ~ "Gary Busey Hairline" (Great band name and song title! Ha, ha!)
