Songs About Your Mama

"Yo' Mama" jokes used to be all the rage way back when, though they tend to fall a little flat these days. However – as this collection of songs will attest – "Your Mama" songs never go out of style. As you will see here, your mama does not excel at dancing, won't like your boyfriend/girlfriend, is capable of being both shocked and rocked, and is in serious danger of being murdered by Frank Zappa's guitar. Sophisticated stuff here. Enjoy?  ~  JH

Planetary Songs, Vol. 4: "Uranus" & "Neptune"

Here's the fourth installment in my latest series of posts featuring songs with the names of the planets in their titles. And let me just tell you...it was really, really difficult to find 10 songs that weren't scatological or sexual in nature with the word "Uranus" in the title. (For obvious reasons.) I think I was mostly successful, though one of the songs may be borderline risque, at least from a visual standpoint. Oh yeah, and there's 10 songs about Neptune in here, too. You may think this is the last post in the series, but count me among the naysayers who still thinks Pluto is worthy of a spot amongst the planets, as it always was when I was growing up – so Pluto will get its own post tomorrow. Enjoy?  ~  JH
