Songs About Raining, Pouring, Old Men, & Snoring

Where I live, today was a nasty, rainy day. As a result, there are these songs. Do with them what you will. And enjoy!  ~  JH

1)  Guns N’ Roses  ~  “November Rain”

2)  Skylar Stecker  ~  “Let It Pour”

3)  Paul Robeson  ~  “Ol’ Man River”

4)  Veronica Born  ~  “Don’t Snore”

5)  Garbage  ~  “Only Happy When It Rains”

10)  Vintage Culture & Adam K  ~  “Pour Over”

11)  John Fogerty  ~  “The Old Man Down The Road”

12)  Grant Lee Buffalo  ~  “America Snoring”

13)  Mariah Carey  ~  “Through The Rain”

14)  Crowded House  ~  “Pour Le Monde”  (Yeah, I know this one’s sort of cheating since “Pour” here is a French word with an entirely different meaning – whatever that may be, I don’t speak French. But good “Pour” songs are hard to come by, so there ya go…)

15)  Anika Moa  ~  “My Old Man”

16)  Dervish  ~  “Snoring Biddy”

17)  Bruno Mars  ~  “It Will Rain”

18)  Benga ft. Marlene  ~  “Pour Your Love”

19)  Neil Young  ~  “Old Man”

20)  Kevin Focus ft. Steve Aoki  ~  “Less Is Snore”

21)  Carpenters  ~  “Rainy Days And Mondays”

22)  Céline Dion  ~  “Pour Que Tu M’Aimes Encore”  (Yep, it’s me cheating again by selecting a song with the French word “Pour” which doesn’t mean “pour,” as in to drain something of its liquid. What’s your point?)

23)  Hootie & The Blowfish  ~  “Old Man & Me”

24)  3 Feet Smaller  ~  “Snore”

25)  Zoe G  ~  “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring”  (A creepy version of a classic nursery rhyme just in time for Halloween. You’re SO welcome!)

Songs About Yesterday, Vol. 1

Today begins a new 6-part series. I know what you're probably thinking. Groan! Not another miniseries! But this one's going to be good, I promise. Turns out, in all the music blogging I've done over the past few years, I've never dedicated a set of songs to the subjects of "Yesterday," "Today," and "Tomorrow." It's high time I did so. There are so many wonderful songs to choose from which contain one or more of these words in their titles, so I had to include a bunch. There's 40 songs for each word, split up into posts of 20 each. We begin with "Yesterday." Enjoy!  ~  JH

1)  The Beatles  ~  “Yesterday”

2)  Leona Lewis  ~  “Yesterday”

3)  30 Seconds To Mars  ~  “From Yesterday”

4)  Foreigner  ~  “That Was Yesterday”

5)  Boyz II Men  ~  “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday”

6)  Black Country Communion  ~  “Song Of Yesterday”

7)  Chad & Jeremy  ~  “Yesterday’s Gone”

8)  George Jones, Jamey Johnson, & Blackberry Smoke  ~  “Yesterday’s Wine”

9)  Carpenters  ~  “Yesterday Once More”

10)  Jethro Tull  ~  “A New Day Yesterday”

11)  Stevie Wonder  ~  “Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday”

12)  Toni Braxton ft. Trey Songz  ~  “Yesterday”

13)  Spiral Starecase  ~  “More Today Than Yesterday”

14)  Guns N’ Roses  ~  “Yesterdays”

15)  Tony Bennett ft. Buddy Rich  ~  “Yesterdays”

16)  Fink  ~  “Yesterday Was Hard On All Of Us”

17)  My Chemical Romance  ~  “The Kids From Yesterday”

18)  Spooky Tooth  ~  “That Was Only Yesterday”

Songs About The Jungle

Stylistically speaking, I went way diverse with this dynamic selection of songs. Each of them has the word "Jungle" somewhere in its title, but no two songs are even remotely alike. Well, except for the Bonus Track...but even that's only "remotely" similar. Enjoy!  ~  JH

1)  Bob Marley  ~  “Concrete Jungle”

2)  Steve Miller Band  ~  “Jungle Love”

3)  John Fogerty  ~  “Run Through The Jungle”

4)  Kool & The Gang  ~  “Jungle Boogie”

5)  Herbie Mann, Dave Valentin, Paquito d’Rivera, Ray Mantilla, & Tito Puente  ~  “Jungle Fantasy”

6)  New York Dolls  ~  “Stranded In The Jungle”

7)  Bonnie Tyler  ~  “It’s A Jungle Out There”

8)  Guns N’ Roses  ~  “Welcome To The Jungle”

9)  Mike Oldfield  ~  “Jungle Gardenia”

10)  Santana  ~  “Jungle Strut”

11)  Warren Zevon  ~  “Jungle Work”

12)   Emma Louise  ~  “Jungle”

13)  NONONO  ~  “Jungle”

14)  X Ambassadors & Jamie N Commons  ~  “Jungle”

15)  Emiliana Torrini  ~  “Jungle Drum”

16)  The Presidents Of The United States Of America  ~  “George Of The Jungle”

BONUS TRACK:  2Cellos  ~  “Welcome To The Jungle”  (This dynamic instrumental rendition of the G N’ R song above was far too fantastic not to include here.)
